		<description>Some good points made. With thanks to Vivian Gornick,  I&#039;ve found it helps to think: What&#039;s the situation? And then, what&#039;s the story?
That&#039;s how I read Tom&#039;s description of the barber piece. Situation...man loses leg. Story? His need for being liked and discovery that he is in fact liked. The &quot;nose&quot; for what the real story is takes time to develop but once you have it, the writing craft gets it done.</description>
